The Sugar Shack is a project near to our hearts.
Walhalla has been crafting our own maple syrup from the trees on our 7 acres. From our humble beginnings, using a makeshift evaporator, we are renovating the sugar shack and upgrading our maple production. A 600 sqft building that’s a part of an open pole barn will provide multiple resources for the farm. During the spring mud season it will be a traditional sugar shack.
In the coming years, Walhalla will host Maple Mayhem: A Maple and Music Jam. A community maple syrup gatherings with live music, while the sap boils and kids enjoy maple taffy poured over snow. For the rest of the year, it will provide space for ceramics and pottery.
This summer, join us for a drop-in hang out and build event. See our progress and be a part of creating a community gathering space for everyone to enjoy. Below are pictures of our 2022 progress.
